This course focuses on the role of admiralty jurisdiction in federal and state courts with regard to pleasure watercraft (e.g. jet skis, water skiing, sailboats, catamarans and commercial vehicles), specifically with regard to incidents in both intra and interstate waterways. Topics include: The Inland Rules of the Road; the "Savings To Suitors" Clause; and the crucial importance of the phrase "privity" and knowledge". Includes discussion of relevant case law.
